Capiz opens ‘shops’ for province’s best products

ROXAS CITY, Capiz -- The Capiz Tourism Information Center and Specialty Shops at the Provincial Park here were formally opened, Dec. 10, to provide the city and each of the municipalities venues and opportunities to market their premier products to visitors and tourists.

Aside from locally made products and souvenirs, the building also includes a canteen of native delicacies as snacks and refreshment.

Gov. Antonio A. Del Rosario, in his message, has called on all local government units to find creative and imaginative ways to market their respective local products at the center.

He hinted the province’s rich mythical stories as an integral part of product development to further stir public interest and motivation to buy the product.

Gerry Roxas Foundation president Judy A. Roxas graced the opening ceremonies.

All visitors visiting the park are expected to pass by the stalls positioned at the exit area of the recreational activities site.

The center is the newest additional come-ons at the park which boasts of an artificial water fall and arboretum.

A festive lights was also established by the provincial government last Nov. 14 in the area as an additional attraction among Capiceños this Christmas season. (LTP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
