GSIS : Give priority to payment of loans

SAN JOSE, Antique -- The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) urged members to give priority to payment of loans.

GSIS-Iloilo Manager Marciana M. Bata emphasized to GSIS members to give priority to payment of loans to avoid compounded interest and penalties as she discussed the updates on the agency's programs and services to the information officers from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental during the Information Officers' Year–End Conference held in Iloilo City recently.

She also encouraged members to be updated of their contributions, records of loans, service records, statement of account and payment by logging on to GSIS website.

GWAPS machines can also be utilized in various municipalities to give wider access to members, she said.

During the forum she also discussed the benefits for members who are contemplating to retire including the needed requirements for application of retirement.

Also, PIA Director General Harold E. Clavite cited the need for information officers to maintain good relationship with the media and general public, as read in a message by Venus Sarmiento, Officer–In-Charge of PIA Region 8.

Meanwhile, Antique Government Information Center Coordinator Vicente W. Villavert, in his remarks during the event, underscored that information officers should be responsible sharers of information. (LTP/PSM/PIA-Antique)
